FAQ

What happens after the family portrait session?

A. After the session, I carefully curate and edit the best images, the total amount will depend on the amount of time that your photoshoot lasted. These images will be accessible through a private online gallery, where you can select your favorites for download. Each session includes different amounts of photos at no additional cost. Additional downloads beyond what are included in your package and prints are available for purchase. Gallery turn around time is between 3-6 weeks.

Can we include our pets in the family portrait?

A. Absolutely! Pets are part of the family, and I encourage including them in the session. Just let me know in advance, and we can plan accordingly to ensure everyone, including your furry friends, feels comfortable and natural during the shoot.

Can I extend the session on the day of?

A. That depends on lighting and any other time constraints and I am working within for that specific day. I try to be as flexible as possible.

What kind of gear do you use?

A. I'm a Canon girl. I have a few mirrored bodies and many different lenses that I use. It all depends on lighting, movement and the look we are going for.

Do I have to order prints through you?

A. Absolutely not! The downloads that come with the package you purchase are yours and you are welcome to print anywhere you choose! However, I use Pixieset for my online gallery and they have very professional prints. I have had people download their allotted photos and then purchase prints of the rest! It is a cost effective way to do it.

What is the golden hour in photography?

A. The golden hour is a magical time shortly after sunrise or before sunset when the sunlight is soft, warm, and diffused. The low angle of the sun creates long shadows and a golden hue, adding a beautiful, flattering glow to your photographs.

Why is the golden hour considered ideal for photography?

A. The golden hour offers soft, even lighting that reduces harsh shadows and highlights, creating a more appealing and natural look. The warm tones during this time add a pleasing atmosphere to your images, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

Can I schedule a photo session specifically during the golden hour?

A. Absolutely! Many photographers, including myself, recommend scheduling outdoor sessions during the golden hour to achieve the best lighting conditions. It's a great way to capture portraits, landscapes, or any subject with a warm and soft quality of light.

How can I prepare for a professional photoshoot?

A. Start by selecting outfits that reflect your style and the mood you want to convey. Ensure they are clean, well-fitted, and wrinkle-free. It's also a good idea to consider the location and any specific themes or colors you'd like to incorporate into the shoot. I have a style guide I can send you if you are interested.
